25th meeting of Croatian brass bands was held on 11th and 12th June in the House of Culture in Novi Vinodolski, organized by the Croatian Parliament of culture, under the full cover of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the County of Primorje-Gorski Kotar. Co-organizers were the City of Novi Vinodolski, Cultural Centre of the Novi Vinodolski, the Croatian Composers Society HDS - ZAMP, the Tourist Board of the County of Primorje - Gorski Kotar, the Tourist Board Novi Vinodolski, Jadran dd Crikvenica, TouristAgency "Lišanj: - Tourist" and "Novi - Tourist."

Aim of meeting was achieved through out mutual introductions, gathering, and mostly with achievement of most valuable achievement of amateur brass bands in Croatia, development of critical relationship to music values and encourage of music creativity and amateur work in general, as well as the promotion of cultural - artistic amateurism. The meeting was preceded by a total of 11 selections at county festivals held in Karlovac, Koprivnica, Pozega, Daruvar, Mac, Belica, Petrinja, Zagreb, Jastrebarsko, Bednja and Imotski.

Attended 15 brass bands from the Croatia; from Zagreb, Solin, Kraljevec na  Sutli, Marija Bistrica, Virovitica, Varazdin, Križevci, Valpovo, Samobor, Daruvar, Dubravice, Belica, Petrinja and Pozega. Guests of the meeting were Papirniški pihalni orkestar Vevče from Slovenia. The meeting was a program related to the anniversary of the composer: Ivan  Muhvića - 135 anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Vuzem - 80 anniversary of the birth, Tomislav Uhlik - 55anniversary of the birth, Ive Tijardovića - 35 anniversary of his death, Karlo Metikos - 20 anniversary of the death, and Josip Jankovic - 10 anniversary of his death...

Program coordinator was Ms. Sonja Gospodnetić. The expert committee consisted of: Mo. Mladen Tarbuk (Chairman), Mo. Miro Saje from Slovenia and Mo. Tomislav Uhlik.

After completing the program, and a break of 15 minutes, an expert committee decided to award the 1st prize at the “ Gradska glazba HZ Varaždin,  2nd prize “ Gradska glazba Petrinja and 3.prize took “ Gradska glazba "Trenkovi panduri" Pozega.

Chairman of the expert committee Mo.Mladen Tarbuk presented on behalf of the Croatian Composers Society Award for best performance of the Croatian composer  to “ Gradska glazba "Zvonimir" from  Solin for performance, "Bakonja -Concert suite from the opera Grotesque" of Silvio Bombardelli.

Based on the above-mentioned decision of the expert committee, the exclusive sponsor of this year's meeting ''EURO-UNIT & Yamaha Music Europe'' awarded “ Gradska glazba Hrvatskih željeznica Varaždin” as most successful orchestra with marching bass drum Yamaha MB-424 EJBL, Marching snare drum YAMAHA MS-412EW and Plaque of Euro-Unit, “ Gradska glazba Petrinja as the second most successful orchestra received marching bass drum Yamaha MB-422FR and the Gradska glazba  "Trenkovi panduri" Požega won marching snare drum YAMAHA SD-265 as the third most successful orchestra.

Upon completion of the meeting, Secretary of the Croatian Culture Parliament Drazen Jelavić and associate of Music Culture of the Croatian Culture Parliament Dubravko Pernicki gave all participants of meeting Recognition of Croatian Culture Parliament for participation in the meeting, a deputy mayor of the town Novi Vinodolski mr. Velimir Piškulić concluded 25th Maintenance Meeting with Croatian brass bands with salutation "To meet again in Novi Vinodolski 2012."
